We tried visiting Koji for Mother's day weekend but we found the place closed, we didn't see anything posted warning about it, after driving 1hr+ from Dublin we were disappointed, but that didn't stop us from trying, perseverance paid off because we took the drive again and we would gladly take it again. First of all place is so cool, could I say that my favorite part of the building was the bathroom?... never thought I would say that about a restaurant but the Manga pages on the walls was a supreme detail. And well, the most important part: food is fire 🔥 we had the classic, the J.B.B and the steak house 2.0, the Ginger Crunch Slaw, loaded spuds and the cheese curds. Everything tasted fresh, well thought and perfectly crafted, even the garnish is oblivious freshly made in house, those pickled jalapeños are crunchy and perfect, the cheese curds are fluffy and crispy. We got the Sakura lemonade which was amazing, little on the sweet side, and a hitachino 🍺 ale with plum, so refreshing I might list it as one of my favs. Food came out so fast and we enjoyed our time there. We went early so the bar was still closed, but we will be back for cocktails one of these days... the only thing I don't like is that I live more than 70 miles away from this place, but that is not their fault.
First visit today…DELICIOUS! I got the JBB. Highly recommend. The bun was cool to the touch, could be toasted for a minute. Sister got the classic and enjoyed it as well. The spuds are fresh. A little horseradish/mustard kinda zing to them. The hibiscus tea is refreshing (but could use some ice). Staff is attentive, kind and fast.

You love burgers! Of course you do… that’s why you are here. Well these people LOVE them more! And I for one am greatful we have such heroic pioneers keeping burgers on the cutting edge of taste maxxing. I partook in the Monthly Chef Collab, Bulgogi Smash. Now I read the sign Wel I shouldn’t have been completely blown away by the fact that it was in fact exactly that! Milk bread sesame bun, Asian slaw and double patty with a slab of some type of Korean melting cheese. And when I say slab… what I mean is a freaking CAKE of delicious cheese. My FS was this glorious. It was decidedly delicious and interesting. A little on the salty side for me if I’m being honest and I think maybe I wanted more freshness and crisp from that Asian pear slaw to even it out but I digress into bliss. The uniqueness is a 10. Flavor hits heavy, very strong and powerful, there’s no skirting the edges of what it’s trying to do. It just does it. Do yourself a flavor and eat a burger here. Then come back and eat a different burger. Do that a few times and I think everything in your just me be alright…. Maybe…. I don’t know much about burger therapy but Koji makes me wanna try it!
This was our second time here and felt the same as last time, that it was just ok. It has a decent burger. We did not care for the corn chowder and the fries were just ok. The onion rings were not crispy. Concept is cool would recommend to try but do not know if we would go out of our way to return again.
Really dig the place. Our service was good. The food was pretty decent but I gotta admit I was expecting a slightly bigger burger for that price. A tasty burger indeed though! I got the original Koji and my buddy got the burger, that I wish I'd gotten, with onion and mushrooms. He said it hit harder than his dad's belt. We both got the spuds and I gotta say that I like the idea on how they're prepped. They taste ight, but what bummed me out was the fact that the bottom of our little bag of spuds were a bunch of inedible pieces of fried nothingness. I'll probably be back in the future again but definitely not getting the spuds. Hopefully there's more items on the menu too.
