The front desk staff, office manager, and dentist were all kind and professional, but I had a very difficult experience with a temporary hygienist named Raj. After the initial exam, she recommended a deep cleaning treatment plan costing around $3,000. I explained that this was not financially possible right now and would need to wait until next year. What confused me was that she then refused to perform a regular cleaning that was covered by my insurance. She stated she could lose her license if she did a standard cleaning instead of proceeding with the deep cleaning plan due to standard of care. The only thing she offered and performed was scaling treatment as part of the larger plan. (At an additional out of pocket expense). As a patient, I struggled to understand why a standard cleaning could not still be done alongside the scaling. It seemed like that would have at least helped improve my oral health while I worked toward budgeting for the larger treatment. I had zero pain, there was nothing urgent about the current situation. Management was polite and supportive, but ultimately said they had to stand behind the hygienist’s recommendation and treatment plan. I left feeling confused and disappointed. I would genuinely like to return to this practice because everyone else was great. I would appreciate being allowed to come back and get a regular insurance-covered cleaning now (with a different hygienist) and handle the deeper one next year.
An absolute travesty. Come in for my scheduled cleaning after it’s been reschedule by them after confirmation… my hygienists didn’t show up to work that day? So I spent 2 hours here, got a quote for $1400 and didn’t even get a cleaning. They upsold my cleaning and want 250 per visit despite having fantastic dental insurance. I have no cavity and the want 1400 over 5 visits. Tisha is very sweet. This is what happens what your doctor is owned by a for profit private equity. They took scans and DIDNT EVEN GIVE ME A CLEANING! but they quoted me for lots of cash. X ray tech was not familiar with the equipment and took 5-6 tries per tooth to get a good picture Want to talk to the desk? Navigate a AI agent first. DO NOT go here! Earlier this year, in January, I decided to try Tend since I live nearby and had passed it countless times. The facility was beautiful, modern, and very clean, and I was excited to give it a try. I went in for a routine cleaning. After taking X-rays, I was told that my teeth were "so far gone" and "the worst we've seen in a while." They said a regular cleaning would do nothing for me and that I needed a deep cleaning that would cost approximately $2,400. They also told me I would need this treatment every four months. I was completely shocked. I've never had dental issues, never had a cavity, and have always taken good care of my teeth. Fast forward to last week: I went to my longtime dentist back home because I was so confused and concerned. After examining my teeth, he told me there was absolutely nothing wrong. In fact, he said my teeth looked great. He also mentioned that he regularly hears similar stories from patients who visit Tend and are told they need expensive deep cleanings, crowns, or fillings that aren't actually necessary. The facility is beautiful but sadly they are trying to rip off the patients. I would not go here.
This office installed an improperly sized crown last year. I informed them immediately that it was too big and I explained that I have a connective tissue disorder and am predisposed and highly sensitive to issues like teeth movement. After 19 years of hard won tooth stability, my teeth have now moved and my migraines are so bad I need Botox injections quarterly. I went back to Tend in good faith to get help. The dentist, a different person, did everything she could to make the conversation challenging and to ensure they claimed no responsibility. Her extra-oral exam sparked a 10 out of 10 migraine that has lasted all week. She refused to accept that the crown could be the cause even though that is the only thing that has changed since April of last year. My neurologist confirmed today that it is likely the crown. This office will dismiss you when you tell them something is wrong, let you suffer and then dismiss you again when you come back with proof something is wrong. They offer subpar care for insane prices. Stay away!
I went to Tend for the first time a few weeks ago for a routine cleaning/checkup. I wanted to find a place closer to where I currently live. I had been to my usual dentist about 8 months ago and everything was fine so I wasn't expecting any issues. Tend insisted I needed $6000 worth of work done. Special (expensive) cleanings, new fillings, (very recent) fillings removed and crowns put on. All over the course of 5 visits. The dentist only took a quick look and spoke to me very briefly. I was so confused because my previous dentist hadn't pointed out any issues the last time I went and Tend made it seem like my teeth were about to fall out of my head and like I had some complicated gum issues. They didn't even do a cleaning because they wanted me to come in again for these expensive treatment cleanings. I went back to my previous dentist to get a second opinion because this all seemed SO extreme. They said everything was basically completely fine. I don't need any special treatments or new fillings. This whole experience was massively stressful and Tend seems like a complete money grab. I'm so glad I got a second opinion and finding out I didn't really need to spend thousands was a huge relief. The office is very aesthetically pleasing but clearly no pros other than that.
