Dr Cornelius is an angel of a doctor! I started seeing her at the beginning of 2025 and I have not looked back since then! It was the best decision I could have ever made! Her office is amazing. If you’re thinking about going to her, do it! You will not regret your decision. She is truly the best!
I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but Dr. Cornelius truly deserves one. She takes her time with her patients, listens with compassion, and treats the whole person—not just the issue at hand. She’s empathetic, intelligent, and relatable, both as a doctor and as a mother. I live almost an hour away and still gladly make the drive to Dallas because she is that amazing. Dr. Cornelius is an incredible person inside and out, and she’s the best example of what every doctor should be.

I was recommended to Dr. Cornelius by a coworker. When initially getting an appointment, it can take two weeks to a month to obtain one -- mine was on 10/2/25. The first appointment to get established is online while follow up appointments are in person. During the appointment, Dr. Cornelius ran through the standard forms about historical and current health. She then got to my weight and asked if I wanted to lose any to which I noted "who wouldn't want to weigh less?" This then launched her into recommending Ozempic as an option (unwarranted as she didn't have my bloodwork to know if this would be appropriate for my current health) and how I could exercise more and eat less. This short conversation led to adding a $57 charge to my visit for "face to face behavioral for obesity." I first emailed Kimberly who was the one that help me get established on 10/13/25 about payment, received no response, followed up on 10/16/25, got no response again and then called on 10/17/25. During my call to inquire about why my bill was unexpectedly high, Maira, the account balance coordinator, noted that my visit went beyond the guidelines of an annual exam and that future visits would be this way because of what may or may not be recommended by the doctor. This made me uneasy as now I'm unsure if I should answer certain questions asked wondering if I'll have an unexpectedly charged for some sort of consultation I'm not aware I'm participating in. To be transparent, a visit is $555 at face value and it's up to what insurance you have after that to cover their portion and whatever extra consultation is added in. Maira also noted that there are no due dates for payment which I haven't confirmed with anyone else at the office. I emailed on 10/19/25 to follow up on why I was charged for $57 for something I wasn't asking for and haven't received an email response. I did receive a call from someone else at the office the next day on 10/20/25 at 9:10am with lab results via voicemail (called during work hours and I wasn't able to answer) but no mention of my inquiry. I called back but Maira was not available when I called back not a minute later. On the bright side, Dr. Cornelius's bedside manner is great and I can attest to the other reviewers that she is kind. The appointment just didn't feel transparent in terms of feeling like I would be nickel and dimed for questions while also receiving a lack of response when asking them myself. EDIT (Update): 12/13/2025 I wanted to post another update on the experience -- on top of the above experience, Dr. Cornelius ordered lab work outside of the guidelines of what is covered under a preventative exam which caused an out of pocket expense of $100. I was mailed the bill for $2 and the other $98 is still pending on my insurance so I followed up with Maira asking for the billing of the other $98. Even though the office ordered the bloodwork and filed the claim (which I had no idea would not be covered by insurance), she said it was my responsibility to figure out how to find the way to pay for it. The front office is a mess and it is unreasonable to have them file the claim and then tell me good luck on how to pay for it. Also be weary to email for a response because Maira said that she doesn't check her email every day.
There is a good reason why only one Primary Care Physician is ranked #1 by Google with over 100 responses in counties containing the 9th and 11th largest cities in America. Very few doctors care about their patients to the degree of Dr. Cornelius. She truly cares for her patients’ health and welfare, which is why she is the best in her profession. Compassion and professionalism are hallmarks of greatness! You may never find a better physician in your life.
My wife has been a patient of Dr. Cornelius for a few years and I recently completed my initial visit. Very much appreciated her thoughtful and thorough review of my medical history to make sure she is monitoring the right metrics in my future annual visits.
