We are so happy with our basement renovation and would absolutely recommend this contractor. From the start, John was dependable and hardworking. He consistently showed up when he said he would, kept the project moving, and finished within the timeline he gave us. That level of reliability made a huge difference throughout such a large project. The quality of the work is excellent, and we’re thrilled with how our basement turned out. It’s clear that John takes pride in his craftsmanship and wants the finished product to be something his clients will love. One thing that really stood out was the team he surrounded himself with. Every subcontractor who came into our home was professional, respectful, and genuinely kind. We always felt comfortable having them in our house, around our children, and they treated our home with care and respect. Large remodeling projects can be stressful, but knowing the work would get done as promised and being able to trust everyone coming in and out of our home gave us a lot of confidence throughout the process. We truly appreciate all of the hard work that went into our project and are so pleased with the final result.
John and his crew did an amazing job remodeling our 85 year old basement. Every Sunday he would shoot me an email to let me know what work was being done that week. His guys were on time, professional, and cleaned up as they went along. I told him our budget at the beginning of the process and did his best to work with it. The project took about 7 weeks and the basement turned out beautiful! I would definitely recommend them to anyone considering a basement remodel. (I added some before and after photos.)

This is my first bad review I’ve ever had to write to a company. I’m writing this because I don’t want anyone to go through what my wife and I had to deal with. I spoke to the owner John who quoted me $9,000 to install a drop ceiling for me with the panels I picked. He called back and said they no longer make them that I have panels that I would really like. The price went up $2,500. Just recently I found out the panels I originally wanted were never out of stock and had plenty of them. Then I found out the panels he installed were half the price. So he ripped me off. Then after the install I noticed half the panels were scraped up from improper sliding them across the tracks. And many had broken corners. John told me without looking at them that I wouldn’t be able to see it after the ceiling lights were installed. I asked John the owner about what could be done and he immediately got on the defensive with me. Finally he eventually sent someone out to paint them. He crushed up a panel, added water and brushed it on 125 panels. Later I found out you can not do this to acoustical panels. I sent these pics to John who got very angry and said, look, my guys did a good job and that I should take this matter up with the ceiling tile manufacturer. Amazing!!!!
John and his team did excellent work to transform our unfinished 1960s basement, stairs, and landing leading down to the space into a beautiful, comfortable, and livable space for our family. We were impressed with the skill, personability, and professionalism of his crew, and we appreciated the regular communication and updates about the project and progress. We had multiple other contractors tell us that our vision wasn't workable with the age and condition of the basement, but John worked with us to find the best solution that still fit our budget. JP Grabenstetter's work has added valuable living space to our home, and our family is already putting it to great use!
Professional crew - Organized, efficient, and each take pride in their work. Timeline was always met. Office staff was very responsive and helpful. Honest and upfront in the entire process.
