First time trying this place and it was great. Perfect location for us when we visit Chicago as it’s near all the restaurants we love, close to the shore, and close to downtown. The room was recently updated and they were working on several others, looked like they were completely gutting them so that’s cool, might be a little noisy during the day due to this but it didn’t bother us. Also they have parking right at the hotel so that is great, will be back for sure.
Generally good for a 3 star hotel: Great location. larger suites available in the second building (2 king bed in separate spaces within room). Suites offer full non-tub shower. Alexa in suite Suites appear to have been renovated within last few years. Breakfast options better than average for 3 star property. TIP: By default, hotel will only clean the room every other day. If you prefer to come back at the end of the day to a made up bed/wiped down shower, simply insist at the time of check-in that the room be freshened up daily and the hotel should honor your request.

The location is nice. Parking is onsite, but it is quite expensive for overnight. The walls are paper thin so expect to hear your neighbors. Also they started some kind of construction at like 8:30am? I know it isn’t that early but after a night out it was a little inconvenient. Location was great though.
The room was very clean, but every time we entered, it had a musty, basement smell. We would open the windows (nice- most hotels you can't), which helped. But in the following days, same odor. Our clothes smelled of the odor and we had to wash everything when we got home. I did mention it to the front desk upon departing. The holder in the shower that held the shampoo was broken, but that was a minor thing. The bathroom was spacious with double sinks and we liked that there were hooks on the wall to hang toiletry bags and towels. The bed, pillows, and couch were very comfortable, and we appreciated the extra two pillows in the wardrobe. All appliances in the kitchen worked great. Our room was on the front side above the street, so it was rather loud starting at 7:30 am. The location of this place is perfect if you are visiting folks in Lakeside East (which we were). We walked to the lake, and to restaurants and bars. Parking ended up costing $40/day. There is no maid service for short stays, so you have to go to the front desk if you need something. The staff seemed like they were just doing their job, and were not overly friendly or bubbly in the least. But they were efficient. It was rather pricey, with weekends double the price as during the week. Our two-night visit with parking was $1085. The price per night varies wildly depending on what is going on in the area.
This is a great hotel in a great spot. Easy walk to Wrigley, just a few blocks from a supermarket and a wonderful breakfast buffet and staff. The annex suites are especially nice. Best place to stay in the area and not overly expensive.
