I heard some drips but couldn’t tell where they were coming from. Howald sent John out in less than 2 hours. Detecting the origin of the leak was not an easy job! John worked on it and called for backup from 2 additional plumbers—all were excellent! They were pleasant and diligent and finished the job in one day! They were all nice to my dogs too. I’m so grateful and relieved to get this taken care of so it didn’t become a bigger problem. Well done!
As a servant of Christ, bless the Lord first and in my honest before Him and you, I say theses things, I had just arrived from work and Howald service tech arrived nearly 15min later, which was very good. Daniel didn't greet me upon his arrival with his name, that came later. I met him from my garage where my furnace is located. The garage door was up for open access, he asked how I was and I responded and explained the problem and the problem codes the furnace was displaying based off what I learned from a Goodman furnace YouTube video.. Daniel walked over to the furnace, removed the panel, looked at the power switch on the adjacent wall and made sure it was in the off position, then began to express how much he hates a Goodman furnace..., I thought, "Oh?"... I explained how I went online searching for a Goodman furnace service tech and your company's name and picture showed up in the feed and so I called thinking that you all service Goodman, he said, "we service Crane but we can service any furnace and I am good at what I do", I said we'll, I bought this Goodman furnace brand new and its only a year and a half old and I am very surprised its doing what its doing and would have bought Crane but they were just too expensive, anyway, much was expressed there along with foul language in which he said that he shouldn't be swareing as he explained and so I tried to encourage him and say " well I am definitely a spiritual man and that the Lord is with us", and I walked into my home for a moment and thought, "Lord I think I have the wrong service tech", I walked back out to the garage, we talked breaker box and main power to the furnace location and we were at a difference of opinion on the drawing indication of the furnace switches and he explained to me what was what and I didnt 100% agree but I said "okay", we talked air filter changes, I changed them myself as He worked on the Goodman and I went in the house and stayed in and let him work. Once he finished Daniel told me about 3 problems about my 1yr &1/2 old Goodman furnace, not under warranty from its installers and encouraged me to contact them somehow, also that the problem was electrical. ( the part is 758.00 faulty circuit board) and they have a 200.00 after hour charge for a repair completion tonight.. I said I will wait until tomorrow morning. He finished with the company script on what he is supposed to say to a customer, I signed the 3 forms on his tablet for the repairs after giving my debit card info and then he left. I was shocked at the results but prayed and was moved to find my service manual and all my information paperwork given to me from the original installers and found a mfg. website and number to call and they had me register the furnace and let me know that all parts are under warranty for 5 years and the heat exchanger for many years to come... I dont know what will happen and the company might charge me anyways 🤷🏾 but I know I need heat and right now I have none and I am praying to not be taken advantage of... but I don't know, I will never recommend Howald Heating and Cooling to anyone who owns a Goodman furnace due to the service, the lack of research in warranties associated with a fairly new Goodman furnace, they represent "Crane" and the tech was clear with that point, but.....as he said, "He is good at what he does". He said he would be here by 8am the next day... well...its nearing 9:30am and I called in from work, trusting he would be here...

Howald technicians are always professional. We’ve used them for about 8 years for a new HVAC and then semi-annual maintenance, which has been so helpful. Tonight, during one of those visits, a technician fixed a clog in the water line from the humidifier and it was no additional cost. It was important to us to get the humidifier back on with these 20 degree days.
Dan serviced my homes HVAC last year and was extremely courteous and professional. He appeared very knowledgeable and was able to explain things in a clear manner that a non-skilled person can understand. I specifically requested him again this year. I had to incur a bit of a wait but it was well worth it. Once again Dan provided the same great service as before.
We had been in a new house for only a few weeks in January 2026, when we lost heat and water. We are on a well and use a water pump. The temperatures were frigid. Another local heating and plumbing company came out and sensed our desperation. They told us we needed a new furnace and a new water pump. The water pump had been replaced only 3 years ago. The price tag was going to be $42,000 for what they were recommending. We called Howald for a second opinion. They SAVED THE DAY! They pinpointed the problem and confirmed we did NOT need a new furnace or water pump. It was an issue with the AES Indiana meter box. The 240 volt power lines coming into the house were damaged. We paid an electrician $600 to come and fix the problem. It is refreshing to know companies with such integrity exist. We will be Howald customers for life!!
