This place is an amazing find. The hype is definitely worth it especially because it is free. I would like to think if they cost for the entry then they would still have a lot of customers. The outside views are absolutely breathtaking and the inside shows history of our solar system and of anything space. If you come to LA this is an absolute must see. There is a lot of interactive activities for the kids to keep them occupied as-well.
Always wanted to visit this place and it didn't disappoint. There were thousands of people there but not too crowded. The views of course was amazing my family had a great time just a slight uphill walk to the observatory wasnt bad good workout. Wife and I didn't well over 10k steps during this adventure. My boys loved it seeing new things they never seen before. There is no fee to go into the observatory but there are memberships to get to watch and view different perks. There are two complaints from me is the bathrooms I know its a historical building but come on those bathrooms need a major renovation. Also for the city of LA the parking fee machines I tried two of those things dozens of times and none took my card despite having $$$ in my accounts. Other than that it was a great experience we will come back again during the winter months later this year. Also I didn't mind to donate to the observatory either when it comes to zoos, children's museums donations make sense for their upkeep and preservation.

This is easiest spot to take photo of the Hollywood sign and LA skyline. Park at the Greek theater and take the bus up. Only cost 50cents. It gets busy on the return bus. I was expectinf closer to the sign but guess save you from hiking up. The outside area is free. Plenty of spots to take photo.
Amazing experience! So many interesting exhibits and I couldn’t believe there was no admission cost. The view was incredible as well. The only issue is parking! There is a lot near the Greek Theater with a shuttle and I highly recommend it. Otherwise you’re taking a chance at paid parking or parking alongside the mountain and hiking up pretty far. The parking attendant didn’t even mention the lot to us and we circled for a spot for 20 minutes because the paid lot was full.
Most people know Griffith Observatory as one of the famous filming locations for the movie La La Land. If you are short on time but still want to explore LA, I highly recommend visiting early in the morning. Parking is free before 10:00 AM, and apart from local residents exercising or hiking, you can enjoy a peaceful, unobstructed panoramic view of downtown LA. However, if you want to see the night view, keep in mind that it can be quite challenging due to heavy crowds and limited parking spots. As a side note, the Observatory opens at 10:00 AM, and admission is free!
