We stayed here for 2 nights in June and I absolutely fell in love with The Russell. It's gorgeous and so unique. What they've done with this one-time church building is breathtaking. As far as I'm concerned, East Nashville is definitely the place to stay if you don't want the crazy downtown vibe 24/7. We walked everywhere we needed to for meals and entertainment from the hotel — who can complain about fantastic food, great live music, and a cool rooftop bar, all right down the street?!? When we did want to head downtown, we just hopped on the city bus and it was super easy and inexpensive. We stayed in room 1:1 - it was spacious, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the little treat basket was much appreciated. The morning coffee in the lobby was great, everything about the building is visually striking, and we loved taking our picture in their photo booth. I'm still obsessed with the lobby lamps and the spectacular stained glass all around. We did fumble a little bit with the TV in our room, but that honestly might have just been an "us problem" because everything else was flawless. The absolute best part though? Knowing that staying here helps support the unhoused community. A magnificent hotel with an inspiring mission. We’ll definitely be back!
The Russell is a modern way of lodging in a great location in east Nashville. I was so amazed to pull up to a gorgeous church only to realize this was my hotel! The stained glass, original rafters, and views all the way to the steeple greeted me when I came in - along with a beautiful lobby with gorgeous lighting, cozy seating, music playing in a beautifully designed space. Everything is text and code driven - no check in desk or bellhop - which I found super refreshing. My rooms are modern and clean with every amenity you could want. Small but lovely creature comforts like a soft bathrobe and a nifty modern hair dryer made me feel at home. I was also impressed with the kind communication I received (via text!) from staff; for example there was a minor issue I had which was no one’s fault and they handled it immediately and professionally. I actually was a little sad to leave. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nashville! Also a great local coffee shop which I went to every single morning is walking distance called Yeast Coffee - which after chatting with the staff is a locally owned spot :)

We had a great overnight stay at the Russell. The building is BEAUTIFUL! The area is very walkable with several restaurants, cocktail bars, and entertainment venues a block away. The room was lovely and very comfortable. The champagne choice was excellent! Thank you so much for the welcome gift. We will definitely be returning!
Absolutely stunning location! I was blown away when I walked in. The decor is so bright and fun! The stained glass is stunning! My room was so comfortable and I love all the free snacks and wine that was provided. such a great touch! Although there is no front desk employees were very quick to respond to text messages and I absolutely love the cause that you give back to. I definitely stay here again and would highly recommend. #RussellNashville
Stayed in room 2-6 for Pride weekend and loved it!!! The decor speaks for itself, but the quiet of the neighborhood at night (even during a very busy weekend) was so great. Little touches like a mini air filter, a Dyson hair dryer, and various snacks and goodies made our hotel time feel like a vacation too. My only caveat would be that church pews were used in the headboard construction (very cool), but they occasionally creaked in one of our beds. Otherwise, I would recommend The Russel for anyone who wants a uniquely beautiful room with low traffic, privacy, and easy access to East Nashville.
